The upcoming Nikon D800 camera release has been anticipated for over a year now. All of us Nikon DSLR owners have been drooling at the possibilities. However Nikon has kept it tightly under wraps and top secret.
The specs are still just speculation, however I did recently find out something interesting. On the Dec 19 2011 edition of MotoPodcast.com there is an interview with Mark Miller, who is a professional bike racer. He was hired a little while ago to be the motocycle driver in the new Nikon D800 commercial. Apparently he was on an amazing 1000cc BMW bike and the set was downtown Chicago. Nikon Actually shut down some actual Chicago streets from 9pm to 6am for 6 nights in a row. Then they had Mark riding like crazy at up to 130mph on the actual streets of Chicago…with no hay bales etc. They had a bike following him which was custom outfitted with several D800′s as well as other placed along the route. There is no word on when this commercial will be released but it should be very soon.
So the one thing we now know for sure is that the D800 will feature a new leap in technology for shooting HD video.
Now I am drooling even more!
